The refinery was among Russia's largest oil-processing facilities and ranked fourth by processing volume before the full-scale war. It produces gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, lubricants and other petroleum products. The strike caused significant damage and a major fire at a plant with an estimated capacity of about 17 million tonnes of oil per year, or roughly 340,000 barrels per day. No casualties were reported.
